Chief Public Affairs Officer at Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA)

Judy Pfeifer has a long and varied work experience history. Judy most recently worked as the Chief Public Affairs Officer at the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) since November 2018. In this role, they were responsible for establishing and leading public affairs, communications, and call-center functions while providing advice on risk management.

From 2012 to 2018, Judy served as the Chief Communications and Public Affairs Officer at Metrolinx. Their responsibilities included transforming and expanding all aspects of public relations, government relations, and stakeholder relations. Judy demonstrated exceptional leadership in government relations, engaging with over 300 elected officials across various levels of government.

Judy also worked as a Professor at Seneca College in 2017, teaching government relations courses. Prior to that, they held the role of Vice President & Practice Lead at Hill+Knowlton Strategies from 2008 to 2012, where they drove business development and strategic counsel in public affairs and communications.

Earlier in their career, Judy held various leadership positions, including Vice President at Toronto Foundation from 2005 to 2008 and Chief of Staff at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing from 2003 to 2005. Judy also worked as a Manager at the City of Toronto from 1989 to 2003.

Judy Pfeifer has a Chartered Director (C.Dir.) degree in Governance from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University. Judy also has completed a Principles Based Regulation - Regulatory Analysis and Decision Making program at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School. Additionally, they have completed a Mini-MBA: Essentials of Management program at the Schulich Executive Education Centre. Judy holds a Diploma in Human Resources from Seneca Polytechnic and an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from Carleton University. Judy is currently pursuing a course on Risk and Crisis Management at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
