Mark White

Mark White has a diverse work experience, starting with their current position as the Chief Executive Officer at the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) since 2018. In this role, they are responsible for establishing and building a forward-thinking regulator to improve consumer and pension plan beneficiary protections in Ontario.

Prior to their current role, Mark worked at the Bank of Montreal, where they served as the SVP & Head of Enterprise Risk Management from 2015 to 2018. In this position, they reported to the Chief Risk Officer and was accountable for centralized risk management activities and functions across the bank.

Before joining the Bank of Montreal, Mark held various senior executive roles at BMO Financial Corporation and BMO. From 2014 to 2015, they were the SVP/Head of Capital Adequacy & Analysis, where they led teams focused on capital demand and capital adequacy. Prior to that, from 2011 to 2014, they were the SVP of Capital Management & Optimization, responsible for capital supply, reporting, and optimization of BMO's capital resources.

Mark also has experience working for regulatory agencies. From 2008 to 2011, they served as the Assistant Superintendent and Head of the Regulation Sector at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions of Canada.

Earlier in their career, Mark also worked at RBC as the Managing Director & Global Head of the Strategic Transactions Group, at Ernst & Young as a Partner, and at Newcourt Credit Group as a Senior Vice President.

Mark started their career as a Business Law Associate at Fasken Martineau from 1987 to 1992.

Overall, Mark White has a strong background in risk management, capital adequacy, regulatory affairs, and leadership in the financial services industry.

Mark White has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University, School of Business & Economics. Mark also has a law degree, LLB, from the University of Toronto.
