Jonathan Kim has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of animation and design. ✨Jonathan began their career as an illustrator at Gamesetwatch in 2006 and later worked as a freelance illustrator at Off Base Productions. In 2007, they served as the Lead Web Designer at Brandissimo!, where they managed creative design for the NFL kids' website.
Kim then worked as a Comic and Staff Artist at The Gamer's Quarter from 2005 to 2007. In 2008, they returned to Gamesetwatch as an Illustrator and also freelanced as an animator at Barber Martin Advertising. ✨Jonathan joined Ubisoft in 2009 as an Animator and Illustrator, contributing to the development of Scott Pilgrim vs the World: The Game.
From 2010 to 2012, Kim worked at Reverge Labs, LLC as a Senior Animator, focusing on creating rough animations for the characters in Skullgirls and collaborating closely with the programming team. ✨Jonathan also implemented cinematics and created the opening for the game.
In 2012, Kim joined Lab Zero Games as a Senior Animator, where they played a significant role in the development of Skullgirls and Indivisible. ✨Jonathan contributed to character animation, attack concepts, story development, and the creation of cutscenes for both games. ✨Jonathan also led the external contract team responsible for creating all monster animations in Indivisible.
Currently, Kim holds the position of Senior Animator at Future Club, a role they began in September 2020.
Jonathan Kim attended the California Institute of the Arts from 2005 to 2009, where they received a Bachelor's degree in Character Animation.
