Miriam Ferrer has held a variety of roles in the scientific field. In 2017, they became the Head of New Product Development for Cambridge Nutraceuticals Ltd, where they were responsible for driving product development, assessing market trends and consumer demands, and critically assessing ingredients and suppliers claims. From 2008 to 2017, they worked for Abcam, first as a Product Manager for Assays and later as a Business Development Associate. From 2005 to 2008, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at MRC-LMB, where they investigated the molecular function of BRCA1. From 2000 to 2005, they were a Trainee Researcher (PhD student) at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, studying the molecular basis of Fanconi Anemia. In 1999, they were a postgraduate researcher at Wageningen University, exploring the catalytic activities of different mutants of VAO.
Miriam Ferrer completed their PhD in DNA damage from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) in 2005, after obtaining their Master in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Wageningen University & Research in 2000. Miriam had previously obtained their MSc in Biology, speciality Molecular Biology from Universitat de Barcelona in 1999. Additionally, they have obtained four certifications from LinkedIn, namely "Finance for Non-Financial Managers", "New Manager Foundations", "Writing a Business Case" and "Project Management Foundations" in October and September 2017, respectively.
