Stephen Chiavelli

Lead Engineer at Gala Games

Stephen Chiavelli has a strong background in game development and programming. Stephen started their career as an Intern Programmer at Reader's Digest in 2002. From there, they worked as a Programmer at 5TH Cell Media from 2006 to 2008. Stephen then moved on to Centerline Capital Group, where they served as a Programmer from February 2008 to November 2008.

In 2008, Stephen transitioned to the gaming industry and joined Snowblind Studios as a Tools Programmer. Stephen worked on various tools and programming tasks until November 2011. Following that, they joined Z2Live as a Game Developer, working on game development projects from December 2011 to October 2012.

Stephen then joined Ember Entertainment in October 2012 as a Mobile Games Engineer. During their tenure, they worked on numerous games and contributed to over 10 shipped titles. Notable projects include Survival Z, where they conducted a complete refactor of the AI, added new behaviors, extended the Unity toolset, and built and extended UI prefabs. Stephen also worked on Coin City, developing a popup management system and a special events system.

In March 2021, Stephen joined Red Lens Games as a Lead Software Engineer, where they led software engineering projects until April 2023. Currently, they hold the role of Lead Engineer at Gala, starting from April 2023.

Stephen Chiavelli attended Rutgers University where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science in 2003. Following their time at Rutgers, they attended the DigiPen Institute of Technology from 2003 to 2006, although specific information about the degree earned or field of study pursued is unavailable.
