Daniel Northrup

Dan Northrup is an Affiliate Associate Professor at Iowa State University since August 2023. Currently serving as Principal of Science and Technology at Galvanize Climate Solutions LLC, Dan supports technical diligence and impact assessment for the agriculture and land management sectors. Previously, Dan held the position of Director of Special Projects at Benson Hill, focusing on program development and R&D strategy. At Booz Allen Hamilton, Dan worked as an Associate supporting plant breeding and genetics programs for ARPA-E. Earlier experience includes a role as a Research Scientist at Kelly Services and a postdoctoral position at the National Institutes of Health, where Dan studied enzymes regulating histone methylation. Dan earned a PhD in Immunology from the University of Pennsylvania and a BSE in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Duke University.
