Matt Apfel

Matt Apfel has an extensive work experience in the media and technology industry. Matt is currently the Head of Special Projects at ON, where they bring creativity and magic to the company's intelligent chat applications. Before that, they founded Startup Media, focusing on seed and early-stage investments in media and technology.

Prior to their current roles, Matt worked at Google as the Director of VR Video and AR/VR Content from 2016 to 2019. At Samsung Electronics America, they served as the VP of Creative Content & Strategy, leading the development and distribution of groundbreaking VR content experiences.

Matt also held the position of Chief Digital Officer at CORE Media Group, overseeing digital content strategy and creative development for franchises such as "American Idol" and "So You Think You Can Dance". Matt was a Board Member at The Kitchen, supporting emerging artists, and was the SVP of Content, East Coast, at Coincident TV, where they bridged the gap between content and technology.

In addition, Matt founded WeMix, an online talent discovery and music publishing platform, and worked as the VP of Development at True Entertainment, where they originated content for reality TV and new media.

Throughout their career, Matt has demonstrated a passion for creating engaging and innovative experiences in the media and technology industry.

Matt Apfel attended Tufts University from 1983 to 1987, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Affairs. Matt then attended the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School from 1988 to 1990, graduating with a JD degree in Law.
