Warren Gieck

Warren Gieck is a founding partner and SVP of engineering and product development at General Genomics. Warren has also previously served as the president and chief innovation officer at Artesian Software, a software company they founded which focused on intelligent data capture, data analytics/machine learning, and industrial cloud-based applications.

Warren has extensive experience in the software industry, with a focus on developing applications for industrial solutions providers. Warren has led the development of numerous projects, including vision distortion correction for macular dystrophy/degeneration, vehicle identification vision system, gate/door security system, and field to cloud data acquisition – Industrial Internet of Things.

Warren is known for their strong customer focus and their belief in having the internal industry expertise to understand how to build better applications. This has led to him winning contracts with Baker Hughes over off-shore developers. Warren has also significantly reduced development timelines through a focus on Lean Development, Minimum Viable Projects, and reusable code packages. In less than 12 months, they built up a team and delivered five new cloud-based industrial software products for Baker Hughes.

In addition to their work with Baker Hughes, Warren has also expanded their work into adjacent markets by improving team capabilities with training in time-series databases, graph databases, natural language processing, pattern recognition, image feature identification, machine learning, git repositories, Jira agile project management, and more.

Warren Gieck received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Computer Integrated Manufacturing from the University of Calgary.
