Gregory Kennedy

Gregory Kennedy, MBA, CPA has a diverse work experience in finance and accounting roles. Gregory currently serves as the Finance Director at Generis, a full-service organizer of business summits. Prior to this, they worked as a Controller at Generis and was responsible for providing industry insights and onsite expertise to executives and professionals.

Before joining Generis, Gregory worked at JLL as a Senior Finance Manager. In this role, they prepared and managed annual plans, quarterly reforecasts, and financial reporting packages. Gregory also directed the preparation and interpretation of financials and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for timely operations reporting.

Gregory also held the position of Senior Accounting Manager at JLL, where they managed accounting functions for the Canada Post account and led a team of accounting and A/P staff. Gregory successfully conducted an engagement with the client's external auditor to test internal controls.

Prior to JLL, Gregory worked as a Controller at Cul-Mac Industries, Inc., where they managed all finance functions for the organization. Gregory streamlined the month-end close process, implemented sales dashboard reporting, and improved the accuracy and analysis of financial reporting.

Gregory started their career as an MBA Intern at Crucell and later worked at Hewlett-Packard as a Business Analyst and Finance Associate. In these roles, they improved financial management performance, provided financial support for internal departments, and created client invoices.

Their early career includes a position at DTE Energy as a Junior Financial Analyst, where they processed journal entries, performed cost tracking and budget analysis, and utilized Microsoft Excel for reporting purposes.

Gregory Kennedy, MBA, CPA completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a Major in Finance from Wayne State University in 2006. In 2010, they attended the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School and obtained their MBA degree. In 2018, Gregory obtained their Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA Ontario).
