Associate Director Of Diversity, Equity, And Inclusion at Genesee Country Village & Museum

Anneliese Meck has diverse work experience in historical interpretation, community lifeways, and costuming. Anneliese worked at Genesee Country Village & Museum as an Associate Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, overseeing historical interpretation and programs. Prior to that, they served as a Manager of Community Lifeways, supervising and training a large staff of historical interpreters and volunteers. Anneliese also worked as a Historical Interpreter and Interpretation Office Assistant at the museum. In addition, Anneliese has experience as a Content Creator for The Sewphisticate, where they document historical sewing, research, and living history practices. Anneliese develops educational programs and presents talks on fashion history, Chinese American history, and DEAI in museum spaces. Anneliese also had a costuming apprenticeship at the Pittsburgh Playhouse. Anneliese studied extant garments and worked as a stitcher and wardrobe crew. Before their career in history, they worked as a Cashier at Mayer Paint & Hardware.

Anneliese Meck pursued their education at Kent State University, where they earned a Bachelor of Integrative Studies. Anneliese'sfield of study included Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies, Costume Design and Technology, and Textiles. Prior to that, Anneliese obtained an Associate of Science degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies, and Humanities from Monroe Community College. In addition to their degrees, they obtained a Diversity and Inclusion Certification from Cornell University in 2022.
