Denis Tan

Denis Tan has over 17 years of work experience in the fields of branding and brand management. Denis began their career in 2004 as an Assistant Product Manager at Unilever Food Solutions, where they developed a communications campaign to launch Sir Thomas Lipton Premium Teas and launched Lipton Japanese Green Tea. In 2006, they joined Beiersdorf as an Assistant Brand Manager, where they managed the NIVEA Visage/Body/Lip Care and Hansaplast brands and replaced L'Oreal as the dominant market leader in the Anti-Cellulite category. From 2007 to 2010, they worked as a consultant at Temporal Brand Consulting and Brand Union, where they conducted an audit for the Huggies sub-brands, developed a brand strategy for SUTL, and delivered inspiring and effective brand solutions for FMCG and corporate clients. In 2012, they joined F&N Foods as a Senior Brand Manager (Beverages), where they drove a landmark project to reposition three leading brands and commissioned a global trends, competitive and consumption review for the Soya category. From 2014 to 2018, they worked as an Associate Director at Louken Group, a 10-time award-winning brand consultancy. Denis then joined The Golden Duck Pte Ltd as a Group Brand Manager, where they championed challenger brand strategies. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Geniebook as AVP, Branding, where they help students accelerate their academic performance.

Denis Tan completed their Bachelor of Business Administration and Honours (2nd Upper Class Honours) in Business Administration (Marketing) from the National University of Singapore in 2004. Denis then attended the NBS Alumni Affairs, NTU for the “Grow Your Business in Asia” Executive Program. In 2009, they obtained an Executive Diploma in Positive Business Psychology from The School of Positive Psychology and a Certified Administrator of Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Instrument from CPP Asia Pacific. In 2016, they obtained a Practising Management Consultant from Singapore Business Advisors and Consultants Council and a WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) from SkillsFuture SG. Denis also obtained certifications from Hyper Island Asia Pacific, Birkman International, Coursera Course Certificates, Rasmussen Consulting, IDEO U, and Coursera in 2020, 2018, 2016, 2016, 2016, 2015, and 2014 respectively.
