R&d Manager - Assay Development at GenMark Diagnostics

Louis Geller, M.S. has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Louis is currently working as an R&D Manager - Assay Development at GenMark Diagnostics since July 2021. Prior to this, they held various positions at DiaSorin Molecular LLC from 2005 to 2021, including R&D Manager, Analytical Validation and Research & Development Scientist II, Molecular Diagnostics. In these roles, they led projects focused on the design, development, validation, and implementation of Real-time PCR-based assays for various diseases and genetic mutations. Before joining DiaSorin Molecular LLC, Louis worked as a Senior Research Associate at Beckman Research Institute of the City of Hope, where they conducted research in cancer genetics. Their responsibilities included mutation detection, DNA sequencing, and analysis of haplotypes and linkage disequilibrium. Louis also worked as a Graduate Student at CSU Long Beach from 1994 to 1997 and as a Chemist at the USDA-ARS Fruit & Vegetable Chemistry Lab from 1991 to 1994.

Louis Geller, M.S. earned their High School Diploma from Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies, specializing in Grades 6-12, from 1979 to 1986. Louis then pursued their undergraduate degree, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biochemistry from California State University, Northridge, from 1986 to 1991. Louis continued their education at California State University, Long Beach, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) in Molecular and Cell Biology from 1994 to 1997.

In addition to their formal education, Louis also obtained several certifications. Louis completed a course on "10 Mistakes Leaders Should Avoid" from LinkedIn in November 2021. In December 2020, they obtained certifications in "Advance Your Skills as a Manager," "Making Quick Decisions," "Speaking Confidently and Effectively," "The Leader Habit (Blinkist Summary)," and "15 Secrets Successful People Know About Time Management (getAbstract Summary)" from LinkedIn.
