Telly McGaha

Co-Interim VP at Georgia State University

Telly McGaha is the AVP of Advancement and Development at Georgia State University. Telly has over 10 years of experience in development and fundraising, having raised millions of dollars for various organizations.

Most recently, they were the Senior Director of Development at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where they raised over $2 million within their first year to fund education, research, patient care, and community initiatives. Telly also raised approximately $1 million within their first two months of FY19 towards a personally set goal of $3 million.

Prior to that, they were the Major & Planned Giving Officer at Freestore Foodbank, where they raised over $4 million in individual support for hunger and poverty alleviation programs. Telly also managed a portfolio of 150 donors and collaborated with executive level staff, program directors and managers, and volunteers to shepherd donors from identification and cultivation to solicitation and stewardship.

Before that, they were the Chief Development Officer at Redwood, where they oversaw all fundraising activities and developed strategic plans to increase donor support.

McGaha is a highly successful fundraiser with a proven track record of raising millions of dollars for various organizations. Telly is a strategic thinker who is able to develop creative solutions to complex problems. Telly is an excellent communicator and has a strong ability to build relationships with key stakeholders.

Telly McGaha has a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Louisville and a Master of Public Administration from Northern Kentucky University.

They are on a team with Dale Palmer - AVP, Finance & Operations, GSU Foundation, Sarah Emerson - AVP, Corp/Foundation Relations, and Tabatha Michel - AVP, Advancement, Development. Telly Mcgaha reports to Jay Kahn, VP, University Advancement.
