Leah McCormick

Senior Software Engineer, Accessibility Specialist at Maple

Leah McCormick has extensive work experience in the field of education, as well as software engineering. Leah began their career in 2013 as a Teaching Assistant at Nipissing University. In 2014, they became a French Teacher at Bluewater District School Board. In 2015, they held two positions as an Elementary School Teacher at École Port Elgin-Saugeen Central School and a French Teacher at York Region District School Board. In 2016, they joined Google as a Field Operations Associate and North America Operations Specialist for Google Maps. In 2018, they became a Student at HackerYou College of Technology (now Juno) and a Software Engineer and Accessibility Specialist at Maple (getmaple.ca).

Leah McCormick is currently enrolled in the Web Development Immersive Bootcamp and Front-End Web Development (Fundamentals & Advanced) at HackerYou College of Technology. Leah holds a B.A. Honors, B.Ed. from Nipissing University in Psychology, which they obtained from 2009 to 2014. In July 2022, they will receive their IAAP Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) certification from the IAAP - International Association of Accessibility Professionals.
