Zachary Fearnside

Zachary Fearnside has a diverse range of work experience in engineering roles. Zachary currently works as the Director of Engineering - Device and Automotive at Spiffy, where they lead a team of mechanical, electrical, embedded, and software engineers. Zachary oversees the design, build, procurement, and shipping of various devices and vehicle system designs. Prior to this, Zachary worked as the Hardware & Device Engineering Manager at Spiffy, managing the day-to-day operations of the hardware and device team, including engineering, operations, product design, and supply chain. Zachary also has experience as a Technical Product Manager and as an Engineering and Supply Chain Consultant at the same company.

Before joining Spiffy, Zachary co-founded Aeva Labs, Inc. in 2017 and served as the CTO. Zachary led the company from ideation to execution and worked as the product owner and manager for their "aeva process" and "aeva equipment." Zachary is also a patent holder for the "rapid aging" process.

Zachary's earlier work experience includes roles as a Semiconductor Test Systems Researcher at the ASSIST Medical Research Foundation at NCSU, an Electrical Engineer intern at Sensus, a Project Lead at Medicom Technologies Inc., an Electrical Engineering R&D intern at Sandia National Laboratories, and an Electrical Intern and CAD Technician I at Dewberry.

Throughout their work experience, Zachary has demonstrated expertise in areas such as device and automotive engineering, hardware and device management, technical product management, embedded systems design, programming, and research.

Zachary Fearnside completed their Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University during 2014-2018. Prior to that, they attended Governor's School of North Carolina where they studied Natural Science from 2012-2013.
