Sabra Norris is the current VP of Project Management & Business Systems at the Gemological Institute of America. Sabra has been with the company since 1998, and in their current role, they are responsible for directing the global Business Intelligence function at GIA. This includes defining and executing business intelligence strategy, as well as delivering clear and reliable performance metrics to drive fact-based decision making.
Norris has extensive experience in financial and operational analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and financial modeling. Sabra is also a skilled team leader, and has successfully managed a team of customer-focused Business Analysts, IT staff and consultants.
Some of their noteworthy accomplishments include successfully implementing Oracle Business Intelligence for all divisions of GIA, creating global management alignment by providing a single "source of truth" for all operational and financial analytics. Sabra also automated the financial planning process by implementing Adaptive Planning; reduced hours spent on planning process by 75%. In 2012, they presented at the Oracle OpenWorld Conference on the success of the OBIEE project at GIA (with KPMG).
Norris began their educational career by earning a BS in accountancy from San Diego State University. Sabra then pursued a BS in business from Oregon State University.
