Scott Hasbrouck

Scott Hasbrouck has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Scott is currently serving as the VP of Engineering at Gluwa since August 2021. Prior to this, they were a Board Member at VisSidus Technologies, Inc., contributing to Aerospace and Defense R&D, including projects with NASA and the US DoD.

In 2020, Scott worked as a Principal Software Architect at Deep Planet Research, LLC, specializing in Deep Learning and Aerospace Software Engineering and Research. Scott'sresponsibilities included scientific research in machine learning and distributed computing architecture, with projects focused on space and launch vehicle control and computer vision applications.

Before that, Scott held the position of Chief Technology Officer at Sivo (YC W21) from January 2021 to July 2021. Scott also worked at Soul Machines as a Pre-Sales Solutions Architect, NA/EMEA, from November 2018 to July 2020. In this role, they led enterprise solution architecture for North America and EMEA, developing customized solutions using NLP, NLG, and LSTM neural networks for customer support and automated sales applications.

Scott's previous experience includes roles such as Head of Enterprise Sales Engineering at Gigster, Head of Sales Engineering at Lob, and Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder at Techmate Inc. (YC S16). Scott also worked as a Software Engineering Consultant at WebSpinner, LLC, specializing in Full-Stack Node.js/React web applications, C, C++, and C# for mobile apps.

In 2010, Scott founded Ginkgotree, Inc. and served as its Chief Executive Officer. Ginkgotree was a venture-backed EdTech company that offered customizable digital textbooks to enhance digital learning efficacy and affordability in higher education.

Scott Hasbrouck has a diverse educational background with a focus on entrepreneurship and chemistry. Scott attended Y Combinator twice, in 2016 and 2021, where they studied Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies. At some point, they also pursued a degree in Physical Chemistry at The University of Georgia. However, their highest level of academic achievement is a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry from Spring Arbor University.

In addition to their formal education, Scott Hasbrouck has also obtained several certifications. In 2005, they earned their Private Pilot certification (ASEL) from the Federal Aviation Administration. Scott further advanced their aviation credentials in 2016 by obtaining a Commercial Pilot certification (IR, ASEL). Outside of aviation, they also hold a High Power Rocketry Level 2 Certification from the Tripoli Rocketry Association, which they obtained in November 2020.
