Nico Strydom

Nico Strydom has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Nico started their career in 2009 as an Advocate at the High Court of South Africa. In 2012, they became a Consultant at JNS Consulting, where they assisted customers with compliance and provided advice on risk management.

In 2015, Nico worked as a Labour Consultant at Nape Group before joining Liberty Group South Africa as a Financial Advisor in 2016. Nico then transitioned to the legal field by taking on roles as a Legal Advisor and later as a Legal Executive at LIPCO - LAW FOR ALL.

From 2018 to 2020, Nico worked as a Legal Manager at Capfin, where they prepared legal documentation, conducted legal research, and ensured compliance with legislation.

In 2020, they became the General Counsel at Pattern Matched Technologies™, where they handled complex legal matters and drafted agreements to mitigate risks.

In 2021, Nico joined The Shoprite Group of Companies as an Information Technology Lawyer and Legal Counsel. Here, they prepared and analyzed contracts, monitored contract performance, and resolved disputes.

In 2022, Nico worked as a Professional Speaker at NSXPRESS. Currently, they hold the role of General Counsel & CoSec at GoMetro, where they provide legal counsel and oversees corporate secretarial duties.

Nico Strydom's education history includes a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria, which they obtained from 2005 to 2008. Nico also holds a Life Coach Certification Associate ACELC from the Empowerment Coaching Academy. In 2021, Nico obtained an AWS Business Professional Certification from Amazon Web Services, specializing in Cloud Computing. Additionally, they have completed several online courses, including a Certificate in Negotiation from Udemy in 2020, a Certificate in Contracts from Udemy in 2019, and a Certificate in Leadership Skills from Udemy for Business in 2019. Nico has also obtained various other certificates from Udemy, including those related to Negotiation Fundamentals, Emotional Intelligence, Selling Skills and Sales Operations, Neuro Linguistic Programming, and The Art of Negotiation. In 2021, they completed a Certificate in Negotiation from LinkedIn Learning. Prior to their higher education, Nico earned a National Senior Certificate from Hartebeespoort High School in 2003. Additionally, Nico has obtained certifications in Communication Foundations from LinkedIn, Life Coach Certification from Empowerment Coach Academy, Speaking Confidently and Effectively from LinkedIn, and ITIL Foundation Level from Torque IT. Furthermore, they have obtained several accreditations from Amazon Web Services (AWS), including AWS Partner Accreditation (Business) and AWS Partner Cloud Economics Accreditation.
