Summer Rae

Summer Rae has a strong background in data science and machine learning. Summer is currently working as the Director of Data Science and Machine Learning at Govini. Prior to that, they worked as a Data Science Instructor and Curriculum Designer at the University of Oregon. Summer also held the role of Data Engineering Manager at TwinStrand Biosciences. Summer has extensive experience in the biotech industry, having worked as a Sr. Machine Learning Engineer at Adaptive Biotechnologies Corp. and as a Bioinformatic Data Scientist at NanoString Technologies, Inc., GlaxoSmithKline Pharma GmbH, Institute for Systems Biology, and Stowers Institute for Medical Research. Summer also has teaching experience, having served as a Data Science Instructor and Program Design Consultant at the University of Washington. Summer began their career as a Research Assistant at OHSU's Department of Behavioral Neuroscience.

Summer Rae completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a focus on Neuroscience from the University of Hawai‛i System in 2004. Summer then pursued a Post-Baccalaureate of Science in Biochemistry from Portland State University, which they completed in 2013. Finally, in 2014, Summer Rae earned their Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Bioinformatics from the University of Oregon.
