Manager, Clinical Laboratory at GRAIL

Cristina Marchisano began their work experience in 2002 as a Research Associate at UC Davis Medical Center, where they developed HPLC analytical methods for various drugs and performed GLP quantitative analysis. In 2004, they joined Alta Analytical Laboratory as a Senior Scientist, evaluating and implementing new methodologies for drug analysis. From 2005 to 2006, they worked as a Senior Research Assistant at MD Anderson Cancer Center, performing experiments and collaborating on reports and grant requests. In 2012, they completed a Clinical Laboratory Science internship and then worked as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist Extern at Kaiser Permanente in 2013. From 2013 to 2018, they served as a Senior Clinical Laboratory Scientist at Veracyte, Inc., where they performed complex molecular diagnostic tests and troubleshooting. Since 2018, they have been with GRAIL, Inc., first as a Sr Clinical Lab Scientist and currently as the Manager, Clinical Laboratory.

Cristina Marchisano MLS(ASCP)MB completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science and Technology from Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II in 1995. Cristina then pursued post-graduate research in Biochemistry from 1995 to 1997 and in Physics and Chemistry from 1997 to 1999, both at the same university. In 2001, they obtained a Ph.D. in Food Biotechnology from Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II.

In 2012 and 2013, Cristina attended San Jose State University, where they studied Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology/Technologist. Cristina obtained their Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) in March 2013. Later, in June 2018, they obtained the Technologist in Molecular Biology certification from ASCP.

Cristina also holds additional certifications, including a Fundamentals of Molecular Pathology Certificate and a Laboratory Operational Management Certificate from the American Association of Clinical Chemistry. The specific dates of obtaining these certifications are not provided.
