Richard Reinders

Richard Reinders has extensive experience in the field of Information Security. Richard is currently working as an Advisor at YL Ventures since October 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of VP Information Security at Gravity Payments from March 2021. In this role, they were responsible for designing and implementing the entire security program. Before joining Gravity Payments, Richard worked as the Head of Security at Sisu, an AI focused data startup, from January 2020 to March 2021. During their tenure, they were responsible for various aspects of the security program including strategy, reporting, audits, and incident response. Richard also has experience as the Manager of Security Operations at Looker, where they built and maintained various security functions. Richard has also worked at Yahoo as a Team Lead for Track Search Rescue / Incident Response, where they led the team in responding to high severity incidents. Earlier in their career, Richard held roles such as Senior IT Risk Analyst at Talmer Bank and Trust, Information Security Analyst at Lake Trust Credit Union, and IT research consultant at Sheridan College. Richard also has experience as a founder and co-founder at Exo12 and Initech, respectively. Overall, Richard has a strong background in information security and has played crucial roles in implementing security programs and managing various security functions.

Richard Reinders has a Master's degree in Information Assurance from Davenport University, which they obtained between 2008 and 2011. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Security at Sheridan College from 2004 to 2008. In 2002 and 2003, Richard earned a Post-graduate Certificate in Information Systems Security from Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology. Richard also holds a Certificate in Small Business Office Automation from Loyalist College, which they obtained in 2001. Additionally, Richard has acquired GCFA and GCIH certifications in IT from SANS.
