Alvaro S. Sanchez has extensive work experience in the field of policy development and community advocacy. Alvaro began their career as a Community Organizer at Coleman Advocates for Children and Youth in 2006, where they worked until 2009. Alvaro then joined Tierra West Advisors as an Analyst from 2010 to 2011. In 2011, Alvaro became a Project Manager at Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center, a position they held until 2012. From 2012 to 2014, they worked as a Senior Associate and Stormwater Infrastructure Lead at Green For All. Since 2014, Alvaro has been serving as the Vice President of Policy at The Greenlining Institute, where they lead a team in developing policies to improve public health and environmental quality for low-income communities and communities of color.
Alvaro S. Sanchez pursued their education in a systematic manner, starting with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara. Alvaro attended this institution from 2002 to 2004. Following this, Alvaro pursued a Master of Planning degree with a focus on Economic Development at the University of Southern California. Alvaro studied at USC from 2009 to 2011.
