Keiran Whitefield

Keiran Whitefield has a strong background in maintenance, engineering, and project management in the mining industry. Keiran started their career in 2006 at Newmont Mining Corporation as a Planning & Engineering Superintendent. Keiran then worked at various companies such as Morobe Mining Joint Ventures, Barrick Gold Corporation, Minmetals, and Detour Gold Corporation, holding managerial positions in maintenance and engineering. From 2017 to 2021, they worked at Outliers Mining Solutions as a Senior Consultant and later became the Director of Asset Management. In 2021, they joined First Quantum Minerals as an Engineering Manager and in 2022, they worked at St Barbara Limited as the Manager of Maintenance and Engineering. Currently, they are engaged in two roles as a Project Director at Guinea Alumina Corporation S.A. and as a Senior Consultant for Operational Readiness at Generation Mining.

Keiran Whitefield's education history begins with obtaining a High School Diploma from Ballarat Grammar in 1987. Keiran then attended Monash University from 1988 to 1991, where they earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering. In 1996, Keiran attended Deakin University and obtained a Graduate Diploma of Computer Science. Keiran continued their education at the University of Southern Queensland from 1997 to 2000, earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on General studies.

In 2006, Keiran returned to the University of Southern Queensland and completed a Master of Project Management program from 2006 to 2008. Keiran further pursued higher education by attending Queen's University from 2016 to 2017, where they completed the Queens Executive Program in Business Management.

In addition to their formal education, Keiran has obtained several certifications. In 2009, they earned the Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) certification from Aveta Business Institute. In 2017, Keiran became a Chartered Professional Engineer and obtained membership with Engineers Australia. Keiran also obtained the Chartered Professional Engineer MIEAust CPEng NER APEC Engineer IntPE(Aus) certification. In 2019, they acquired certifications in Mental Health First Aid and Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace from the Canadian Mental Health Association and Mental Health First Aid Australia, respectively. In 2020, Keiran obtained the RPAS Pilot Certificate (VLOS) from Transport Canada and the National Engineering Register certification from Engineers Australia. Most recently, in 2023, they attained the Golden Key International Honour Society Asia Pacific certification from Golden Key International Honours Society Asia Pacific and the Organizational Coaching Level 1 Certification from the Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership (IECL).
