Elisabeth Rodríguez Heck

Elisabeth Rodríguez Heck has held a variety of roles in the technology and optimization industries. In 2021, they began working as an Optimization Engineer at Gurobi Optimization, where they help customers worldwide make the best use of the Gurobi Optimizer. From 2018 to 2021, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at RWTH Aachen University, researching nonlinear optimization in binary variables, combinatorial optimization, and applications of linear and nonlinear integer programming. Elisabeth was also a teaching assistant for the courses Column Generation and Branch-and-Price and Operations Research 2. From 2013 to 2018, they were a Teaching Assistant and PhD Student at HEC Liège, where they were a teaching assistant for the courses Operations Research introduction and Computational Optimization. In 2013, they completed a Master Thesis at Amadeus IT Group, where they optimized the definition of airline yields. In 2012, they completed an Internship at SAP. In 2011, they were a Mathematical Analyst at RWE Innogy AERSA, programming Matlab functions and analyzing wind power data. In 2010, they completed a Software Development Internship at Aplicaciones en Informática Avanzada.

Elisabeth Rodríguez Heck obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 2007-2011. Elisabeth then went on to earn their Engineering Degree (equivalent to Master of Science) in Mathematics and Computer Science from the National School of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics of Grenoble in 2011-2013. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Economics and Management Science, Operations Research from HEC Liège in 2013-2018.
