General Summary:
This position reports to the Race Team Operations Leader or his designee, located in Banbury, UK. This position forms part of the group of factory based garage technicians, responsible for the team and hospitality sea freight, air freight, road freight. The role supports all functions of race team operations when trackside including garage build and other duties as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
Ensuring all sea freight sets meet the correct content and compliance for shipment.
Ensuring that all road, air, and sea freight is loaded safely and on time for transportation.
Providing support during the turnaround process at factory of Sea freight equipment. Doing so will require a level of mechanical / electrical / IT aptitude showing a high level of attention to detail.
When trackside you will report to Race Team Coordinator, and you will assume all roles of the race team garage technicians in the construction of the garage system and supporting roles during the race weekend in a safe and professional manner.
Maintenance of all pit equipment in accordance with schedules and presentation standards.
Responsibility for the cleanliness and condition of your work area, the garage, and all tools and equipment.
Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
Assumes any responsibilities and duties delegated by the Race Team Operations Leader or their designee.
Education and Work Experience:
Ideally have some electrical experience with insulation of equipment
Ideally have some mechanical project experience with repairs to equipment.
GCSE, High School diploma or equivalent required.
3 years of work experience in a professional motorsport’s environment is preferred.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to diagnose equipment faults and create solutions to solve associated issues.
Self-motivated with the ability to use initiative where appropriate.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical skills and ability to overcome technical and operational issues.
Ability to follow complex regulations related to shipment of materials and facility maintenance requirements.
Work to a consistently high standard in stressful and time sensitive situations.
Quick decision-making skills whilst working through problems in a scientific and analytical way.
Work well within a team environment with personnel at all levels.
A sympathetic approach to your work colleagues and an ability to integrate within a group environment.
A can-do positive approach and a willingness to help other is essential.
Hold a valid Category B driving license.
Equipment and Applications:
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Working knowledge of Microsoft office products (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Work Environment Physical Demands:
An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require extensive domestic & international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.
This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
