Zaharoula "Joy" Cook is a laboratory manager at HRSD since February 2014 and has served as adjunct faculty at Old Dominion University since May 2012. Previous experience includes roles as Chemist II at TriLink BioTechnologies, where responsibilities included synthesizing and purifying modified nucleotides, and as a research associate at Old Dominion University, assisting in research on nanocapsule formation. Cook also worked as a graduate laboratory assistant at the University of Central Florida, instructing chemistry lab sections, and as a research assistant at Millar Wilson Lab, where water and sediment samples were analyzed. An internship at Vistakon involved assisting in the development of new contact lenses. Cook holds a Master of Science in Chemistry from Old Dominion University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Jacksonville University.
