John P. Rees

John P. Rees has over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with a focus on hotel operations and guest experience. John P. currently holds the position of Senior Vice President of Hotel Operations at Hard Rock International. Prior to this, they worked as the Vice President of Resort Operations and Experience at Marriott Vacations Worldwide. John P. also held various leadership roles at Marriott International, including Senior Director of Operations for Rooms and Spa Guest Experience in the Middle East and Africa region. Before that, they worked at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company as a Senior Director of Operations and Area Director of Operations for the Middle East and Africa. John P. has international experience in food and beverage management, having served as an Executive Assistant Manager at InterContinental Dubai Festival City and Phoenicia Hotel Beirut. John P. also worked as the Area Director of Food and Beverage for resorts in Southeast Asia and as the Director of Culinary Operations for Shun Tak Holdings. Additionally, they have experience in sales and wine distribution, having worked as an Area Director of Sales for Summergate Fine Wines Limited. John P. began their career as an Executive Chef at Swissôtel Nankai Osaka Hotels & Resorts.

John P. Rees attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2018, where they completed the Ascent Leadership Program in Hospitality and Business. In 2010, they participated in Senior Leadership Training at Hult Ashridge. In 2006, they obtained an Intermediate Certification in Wine Studies from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust. Earlier in their education, they attended a Restaurant Management Seminar at Cornell University in 1996. In 1985, they studied Hospitality Administration/Management at Newbury College.
