Morris Lefika

Morris Lefika (Mashifane) has a diverse and extensive work experience in various companies and roles. Starting in 2002, they worked as a Trainee Accountant for the Auditor General of South Africa until 2005. From 2005 to 2006, they served as the Deputy Director of Internal Audit at Statistics South Africa. Morris then joined the North West Provincial Internal Audit as the Deputy Director of Performance Audits from 2006 to 2008. In 2008, they joined Grant Thornton LLP as a Senior Consultant for a few months before moving to Naspers Limited. At Naspers Limited, they held the position of Manager: Internal Audit Services from 2008 to 2016, where they oversaw internal audit services for various segments of the company and coordinated combined assurance with external auditors. Currently, they are working at Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited, where they have held positions such as Senior Internal Auditor from 2016 to 2018 and Internal Audit Manager from 2018 to 2021. Morris is currently the Head of Corporate Affairs Reporting. Throughout their career, Morris Lefika has gained experience in internal audit, performance auditing, and accounting, and has demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage teams and engagements.

Morris Lefika (Mashifane) (FCCA, CIA) earned a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) degree from the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) between 2016 and 2018. Prior to that, they pursued an ACCA Professional degree from the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) from 2003 to 2008. Morris'sstudies in the ACCA program focused on Financial Management & Reporting, Strategic Management, Auditing, and Taxation. Before entering the ACCA program, Morris obtained a diploma in Internal Auditing from Tshwane University of Technology between 1999 and 2001, with a specialization in Finance.
