Pieter Kemps began their career in 2010 as Head of Managed Services, AsiaPacific at Cisco Services. In 2011, they moved to Amazon Web Services as Head of Business Development & Venture Capital, AsiaPacific, where they set up a team in APAC to establish and manage Amazon’s relations with the Venture Capital community in Asia. In 2014, they joined Sequoia Capital as a Partner for Surge, and later as a Principal. In 2016, they began serving as a Board Director for Nugit, Funding Societies, and 90 Seconds. In 2017, they became a Board Director for HealthEngine. In 2018, they became a Board Director for Insider. In 2019, they became a Board Director for Zenyum. In 2020, they became a Board Director for Qoala.

Pieter Kemps received their MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business in 2011, with a focus in Venture Capital & Entrepreneurship (Summa Cum Laude). Pieter obtained their Master of Science in International Business Studies from Maastricht University in the Netherlands between 1994 and 2000. Pieter also holds a Master's from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in Spain in Economia.
