Tonio Martinez

Tonio Martinez has over 25 years of experience in the aerospace industry. Tonio began their career in 1997 as a Lead Structures Design Engineer at Boeing's Phantom Works, working on advanced composite structures and manufacturing technology. In 2009, they joined SpaceX as a Lead Structures Design Engineer and Senior Structures Design Engineer, where they were responsible for the design and architecture of the thermal protection system panel for the Dragon 1 and Dragon 2 spacecrafts. In 2015, they moved to Apple as a Product Design Engineer. From 2016 to 2022, they held the roles of CTO - Structures and VP Structures Engineering at Divergent, where they led the technology development program to create multi-material vehicle structures. Currently, they are the Vice President of Production at Hermeus, developing Mach 5 aircraft to connect people faster.

Tonio Martinez attended Michigan State University from 1985 to 1989, studying Mechanical Engineering.
