Alejandra Mata

Alejandra Mata has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Alejandra currently works as an Operative Legal Coordinator at HIAS since June 2023. Before this role, they were a Lawyer at the same company from June 2021 to June 2023. Prior to joining HIAS, Alejandra worked as a Paralegal at HIAS from March 2021 to June 2021. Alejandra also has experience as a Lawyer at Despacho Garrido Santana from June 2018 to March 2021. Alejandra began their legal career as an Internship Trainee at the Mexican Consulate from September 2017 to December 2017.

Alejandra Mata completed their Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree at Universidad Autónoma de Baja California from 2013 to 2017, with a focus on Law. In 2019, they attended a Summer Course at El Colegio de México, specializing in International Relations and Affairs. From 2018 to 2019, Alejandra pursued a Master's degree in International Law and Legal Studies at Universidad Latinoamericana, S.C.

Aside from their academic degrees, they have also obtained additional certifications. In June 2022, Alejandra completed the "Curso Basico de Primeros Auxilios" from the Secretaria de Gestion Integral de Riesgos y Proteccion Civil. In May 2022, they achieved the "BSAFE" certification from UNDSS. Alejandra'smost recent certification in April 2022 is "Personas Refugiadas y Solicitantes de Asilo" from IOM - UN Migration.
