Alan Tang

Alan Tang has a diverse work experience in the aviation industry. Alan started their career at Cathay Pacific Airways in 2014, where they worked as a Lead Quality Assurance Engineer and later as a Quality Assurance Manager - Safety & Standards. In these roles, they focused on strengthening maintenance and inspection standards, collaborating with MROs and OEMs for continuous improvement, and overseeing the Safety Management System.

In 2018, Alan joined Cathay Pacific Airways as the Head of Engineering, KA. Alan was responsible for Fleet Technical Management, Technical Reliability and Performance monitoring, Operational Safety Risk management, and new aircraft entry-into-service governance.

Since 2020, Alan has been working at HK Express, starting as the General Manager Maintenance & Engineering and currently serving as the Director, Maintenance & Engineering. In these roles, they have been accountable for aircraft maintenance safety, quality, technical reliability, maintenance planning, inventory management, and strategic procurement. Alan has also gained experience in major M&E IT system migration, organization transformation, digitization, new aircraft introduction, and pandemic management. Additionally, they have been involved in people development, managing suppliers and stakeholders, and long-term strategy development.

Alan Tang completed their Master of Engineering in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College London from 1995 to 1999. Prior to that, they attended Hwa Chong Institution from 1993 to 1994 where they obtained their GCE A Level in Physics, Economics, and Mathematics. In 1991 and 1992, they attended Dunman High School for their GCE O Level. Before their high school education, they attended Wah Yan College, Kowloon from 1987 to 1990.
