Sara Polo Alonso is a Research Bioinformatics Technician at Instituto Hospital del Mar de Investigaciones Médicas, involved in identifying genetic variants linked to varying severities of COVID-19 and participating in a significant GWAS project within the Spanish population. Previously, as a Research Master Student at the Institute of Evolutionary Biology, Sara focused on predicting comorbid trajectories in complex diseases using advanced bioinformatics tools. Earlier experience includes generating 2D skeletal muscle models for McArdle's disease research at Hospital 12 de Octubre and working as a private teacher in Mathematics and Chemistry.
