Director Supply Chain Systems at Hostess Brands

Gerald Hoffman, PhD, PE has extensive work experience in supply chain management, optimization, and planning. Gerald has held various roles in different companies throughout their career. Gerald started their career as a Captain with the US Army Corps of Engineers, where they managed budgets and projects, implemented project management techniques, and provided leadership and management for a large section. Gerald then pursued a Doctorate degree while working as a Consulting Engineer at Stone & Webster, Inc., where they designed and developed decision support systems and mathematical algorithms for planning and scheduling operations. Gerald then worked at Prescient Technologies as a Consulting Engineer, where they continued to develop decision support systems and algorithms, including expertise in analyzing 3D models. At Logility, Inc., they served as the Director of Manufacturing Planning Consulting Services, working with over 55 companies in planning and scheduling activities and providing academic and technical expertise for sales teams. Gerald then joined Manugistics as a Product Manager, responsible for detailed scheduling solutions and leading multidisciplinary teams. After that, they worked at ConAgra Foods as a Manager, focusing on cost savings, supply chain KPIs, and inventory management strategies. At Hallmark Cards, they served as a Sr. Manager, coordinating across a matrix organization, conducting data mining and analysis, educating business users on supply chain best practices, and coordinating integrated testing during SAP rollout. Currently, Gerald is the Director of Supply Chain Systems at Hostess Brands.

Gerald Hoffman, PhD, PE, obtained a Doctorate degree in Engineering Management from the Missouri University of Science and Technology from 1988 to 1990. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from the same institution from 1986 to 1988. Gerald completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Arkansas, where they received a BSME in Mechanical Engineering from 1978 to 1979. Before university, Gerald graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in 1978 with a BA degree, majoring in Mathematics and minoring in Physics. Gerald completed their high school education at Lajes High School from 1970 to 1974. Furthermore, they obtained a Professional Engineer certification from the Division of Professional Registration - State of Missouri in 1990.
