Rachel Mellion has extensive experience in education and leadership roles. Rachel is currently working as a Learning and Development Manager at Hotwire Communications Ltd since August 2022. Prior to this, they served as a School Leader at Charter Schools USA from March 2015 to July 2022. Before that, they held various positions at Providence Public Schools, including Executive Director School Transformation, Office of Transformation and Innovation from February 2014 to January 2015, Executive Director Curriculum, Instruction and Professional Learning from August 2011 to February 2014, Principal at George J. West Elementary School from July 2007 to August 2011, Reading Coach at Webster Avenue Elementary School from July 2004 to July 2007, and ESL Teacher at Webster Avenue Elementary School from September 1998 to July 2004.
Rachel Mellion is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education (EdD) with a focus on Organizational Leadership at Nova Southeastern University, starting in 2022. Prior to this, they completed a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Administration from the University of Rhode Island, from 2005 to 2007. Before that, they obtained another Master of Arts (MA) degree in Reading from the University of Rhode Island, from 1996 to 1998. Rachel's undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Elementary Education with a Behavioral Studies concentration from the University of Hartford, which they completed from 1992 to 1996.
Additionally, Rachel has obtained various certifications from LinkedIn, including Microsoft Teams Essential Training, Human Leadership, Leadership Foundations, Developing Self-Awareness, Lead with Positive Power, Leadership Principles for Emerging Leaders with Bill George, and Getting Started as a LinkedIn Learning Hub Admin. These certifications were obtained between March 2023 and August 2023.
