James Hensley

Captain at HOUSTON PILOTS

James Hensley has extensive maritime experience, having served as a Captain with the Houston Pilots Association from 1991 until retirement in November 2015. In addition to Captain duties, James held the position of Vice President, overseeing personnel, boats, and equipment at the Galveston facility. Prior to this role, James worked as a Navigation Officer for the International Organization of Masters, Mates, & Pilots from November 1978 to April 1991, where responsibilities included sailing as a licensed deck officer on various contract ships, including tankers and passenger vessels. James's educational background includes a certificate of completion in various ship handling and navigation courses from prestigious institutions such as the University of Houston, the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies, Ilawa Ship Handling School, Port Ash Man Model Ship Handling, and Port Revel Man Model Ship Training.
