Priyatham Gorjala

Priyatham Gorjala's work experience begins with their role as a Junior Molecular Biologist, Project Manager, and Assay Development at ATS Gene Tech from September 2004 to July 2006. During this time, they designed and developed PCR-based diagnostic tests for screening gene disorders, optimized a multiplex PCR reaction for DMD and screening Y-micro deletions, and detected cancer mutations using PCR and qRT-PCR on patient samples.

From August 2006 to June 2013, Priyatham worked at the University of Nevada Las Vegas as a Research Associate, Project Manager, and Teaching Assistant. Priyatham managed research laboratory projects and databases, conducted gene expression studies, PCR and RT-PCR, and protein analysis to study the effects of Beryllium on p53 signaling and cancer cell proliferation. Priyatham also served as a Teaching Assistant, managing pre-med required laboratory sessions and supervising undergraduate students.

In 2013, Priyatham joined Roseman University of Health Sciences - College of Medicine as a Scientist, Assay Development Lab Manager. Priyatham utilized microarrays, RT2 Profiler arrays, and microscopy techniques to study gene expression changes, CYP3A5 and Androgen Receptor interactions in prostate cancer, and post-translational modifications of PKG-1 protein in cancer cell lines.

From 2019 onwards, Priyatham worked at HTG Molecular Diagnostics as a Scientist in Product Development, focusing on their expertise in molecular biology.

Currently, Priyatham is employed at Exact Sciences as a Research Scientist, Manager, and Senior Manager. Priyatham is involved in research activities, managing research teams, and contributing to scientific advancements.

Priyatham Gorjala has an extensive education history. Priyatham completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Bio-Physics, Genetics, and Chemistry from Nizam College from 1998 to 2001. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Medical Biochemistry from Manipal Academy of Higher Education between 2001 and 2004.

Priyatham Gorjala furthered their education by earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas from 2006 to 2012.

Aside from their academic degrees, Priyatham Gorjala also obtained additional certifications. Priyatham received a Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certification from the Management and Strategy Institute in June 2019. Moreover, they completed the course "Big Data, Genes, and Medicine" from Coursera in October 2018.
