Cheryl Purvis

Interim Vice President at Huntington Hospital

Cheryl Purvis has a diverse work experience in healthcare leadership roles. Cheryl began their career in 2001 at Legacy Health, where they served as the Director of Surgical and Interventional Services and later as the System Director of Women's Services. At Legacy Health, Cheryl successfully led strategic planning, achieved significant reductions in surgical site infections, and implemented a unique OB hospitalist model.

After Legacy Health, Cheryl joined PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center as the Director of Perioperative Service Lines. During their time there, they recruited and built a new Perioperative Department Leadership Team, achieved growth in surgical volumes, and supported the growth of robotic surgical case volume.

Cheryl then moved on to MultiCare Health System, where they worked as the Clinical Director of Perioperative/OR Services. Cheryl played a key role in transforming the culture to promote positive behaviors and teamwork, co-led a multi-million dollar OR/SPD expansion project, and served as an instructor for high reliability organization (HRO) training.

Currently, Cheryl is working at Huntington Health as the Interim Vice President.

Cheryl Purvis earned their AS and BS degrees in Nursing from Pacific Union College. Cheryl later went on to pursue a Master of Science in Nursing degree in Leadership and Administration from Walden University, which they completed between 2011 and 2013.
