David Colvin

David Colvin has a long and varied work experience. David began their career in 2006 as Senior Advisor and President at IBI, where they provided consulting and training services in organizational and individual performance improvement, communications strategies and change management. David also contributed to new business opportunities. In 2021, they became a Board Member at the International Consortium on Governmental Financial Management. Prior to this, they worked at the U.S. Department of State from 1999 to 2021. During this time, they held various roles, including Public Diplomacy Officer, Media Coordinator for the Bureau of African Affairs, Information Officer, and Program Officer for the Office of International Visitors in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. In 1996, they were Managing Editor of The Middle East Journal at The Middle East Institute, where they edited articles and managed all aspects of production of the leading scholarly journal on the Middle East.

David Colvin has an extensive educational background, having completed an MS in Political Science from the American University in Cairo, Executive Education - Authentic Leadership Development from Harvard Business School, a BSFS in Middle East Studies from Georgetown University, and attended the Rabat American School. David also holds certifications from the Center for International Development at Harvard University for Problem-Driven Iterative Adaptation: Building Capability by Delivering Results (obtained in March 2016) and from the International Society for Performance Improvement as a Certified Performance Technologist.
