Karen Nelson

Karen Nelson has over 20 years of experience in the field of human resources. KAREN most recently served as the Vice President of Human Resources at IDEX Corporation since July 2018. Prior to that, from 2016 to 2018, they worked as an Independent HR Executive Consultant at Nelson HR Group, providing HR consulting support for various projects including mergers and acquisitions, HR operations, leadership coaching, and change management. From 2012 to 2016, Karen held the position of Global Head of Human Resources at LanzaTech, where they established a global HR function across multiple international locations. Before that, they were the Global Human Resources Director at Teleflex Medical OEM, a division of Teleflex Inc., from 2004 to 2012. Their earlier experience includes serving as the Global Human Resources Director at Mettler-Toledo International, Inc. from 1996 to 2004, where they created the HR function in a rapidly growing private company.

Karen Nelson has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management/Human Resources from the University of Illinois Chicago. KAREN also completed global business courses at the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. Karen has additional certifications including a Certified Leadership Trainer from Miller Heiman Group and they are a GPHR (Global Professional in Human Resources) certified by the HR Certification Institute - HRCI. KAREN also holds the SHRM-SCP (Senior Certified Professional) certification from SHRM.
