Raquel Toribio Fernández, PhD, has a diverse range of work experience in the biomedical research field. Raquel currently works as a Clinical Program Manager at IDOVEN, a position they have held since June 2022. Prior to this, they served as a Sara Borrell Postdoctoral Scientist at Quirónsalud from April 2021 to June 2022, where their responsibilities included clinical research in the PESA-Brain project, biomedical writing and communication, and science illustration.

From February 2019 to April 2021, Raquel worked as a Postdoctoral Scientist at CNIC - Spanish National Center for Cardiovascular Research (Centro Nac. Investigaciones Cardiovasc.), focusing on the PESA-Brain project. Raquel'srole involved conducting clinical research to investigate the link between subclinical atherosclerosis and preclinical Alzheimer's disease. Additionally, from May 2015 to January 2019, they worked as a Pre-doctoral Scientist at CNIC.

Raquel also gained international experience as a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Oslo from August 2017 to November 2017. In December 2014, they served as a Pre-doctoral student in the Genetics Department at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and from November 2013 to October 2014, they worked as a Master student in the same department.

Raquel began their research career as a Trainee at Ginefiv, S.L. in July 2013. Prior to this, they gained valuable experience as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at Centro de Biología Molecular Severo Ochoa, CBMSO, from June 2012 to July 2013, and as a Summer Intern at the same institution from June 2011 to September 2011.

Overall, Raquel Toribio Fernández has a strong background in clinical research, scientific communication, and genetics, with a focus on the link between atherosclerosis and Alzheimer's disease.

Raquel Toribio Fernández, PhD, has an extensive education history in the field of biomedicine and genetics and cell biology. Raquel completed their Bachelor's degree in Biology with a concentration in Genetics and Cell Biology at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid from 2008 to 2013. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Genetics and Cell Biology at the same institution from 2013 to 2014. Raquel then furthered their education by obtaining a Research Doctorate in Biomedicine from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid between 2014 and 2019.

Apart from their academic degrees, Raquel also holds various certifications in the field. Raquel obtained a certification in Medical Technology and Evaluation from the University of Minnesota in October 2022. In June 2022, they completed a certification course in Design & Interpretation of Clinical Trials at John Hopkins University. Additionally, Raquel obtained certifications in ICH E6 (R2) Good Clinical Practice and Introduction to Clinical Research from The Global Health Network in February 2022. In November 2016, they completed a training course in "Curso de Formación para la función de ‘Diseño de Proyectos y Procedimientos’. Función D" at Charles River Laboratories. Lastly, Raquel obtained a certification in "Curso de Formación para Técnicos en Experimentación Animal. Categoría B" from Charles River Laboratories in July 2015.
