Kurt Schroeder

Kurt Schroeder has a diverse work experience in multiple technology roles. Kurt started their career as a Senior Consultant at Calabrio, Inc. where they supported a three-tier Java web application for call centers. Kurt then moved to Object Partners, Inc. as a Senior Consultant and later became a Principal Consultant, designing and implementing solutions for maximizing farmers' sale prices for grains.

In 2018, Kurt joined Optum as a Senior Consultant, where they implemented streaming applications using Kafka, Cassandra, and Spring Boot to expose mainframe DB2 tables as REST services.

Kurt then returned to Calabrio, Inc. and worked as a Principal Consultant, developing a greenfield solution for on-demand containerized tasks.

Kurt also worked at Chewy, where they deployed a greenfield experience to promote animal shelters, and at Minnesota Public Radio, where they were part of a small team that built a solution for user sign-ups and profile information storage.

In their most recent role, Kurt served as Director of Technology at Improving, leading teams in architecting and developing serverless solutions for e-commerce rewards programs, IRA services, and more.

Kurt Schroeder has a strong educational background in the field of technology. Kurt obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a focus on Electronic Engineering Technology from Minnesota State University, Mankato, where they studied from 1991 to 1996. Kurt then pursued further education at the University of Minnesota, where they completed their Master of Science degree in Software Engineering from 2006 to 2008.

Additionally, Kurt Schroeder has also gained various certifications related to Amazon Web Services (AWS). Kurt achieved the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification from Amazon Web Services in February 2023. Prior to that, they obtained the AWS Learning: Serverless certification in December 2022. In May 2021, Kurt Schroeder received the AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate certification, followed by the AWS Certified Database - Specialty certification in March 2021 and the AWS Certified Developer - Associate certification in January 2021. These certifications highlight Kurt's commitment to staying current with the latest technologies and their expertise in cloud computing.
