Karen Winter

Karen Winter has extensive experience in the publishing industry. Their most recent position is as the Chief Operations Officer at Informa Tech since 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Taylor & Francis Group from 2014 to 2021, where they held various roles including Director of Continuous Improvement, Head of Quality Management, and Business Process Manager. Additionally, they worked as a commissioning editor, project manager, and consultant at BookShake from 2012 to 2014. From 2007 to 2012, they were a Publisher (Senior Commissioning Editor) at the University of Bristol's Policy Press. Before that, they worked as a Senior Acquisitions Editor at Reed Elsevier from 2005 to 2007 and as a Commissioning Editor at Taylor & Francis from 2003 to 2005. Karen began their career at the University of Bristol in 1997 as a Publishing Assistant - Editor and Journals Manager at The Policy Press, and prior to that, they worked as a Business Support Executive at Cavendish Maine from 1996 to 1997.

Karen Winter completed their Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree at the University of the West of England from 1992 to 1995. Karen then pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Social Sciences with a focus on Criminology and Geography at The Open University from 1999 to 2003. Additionally, Karen obtained multiple certifications, including Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from TAKT LIMITED in 2018 and 2015 respectively.
