Jennifer Parla

Scientific Strategy Consultant at ingenious targeting laboratory

Jennifer Parla has worked in the field of bioscience for over 20 years. Jennifer began their career in 1998 as an Undergraduate and Graduate Research Assistant at Stony Brook University. In 2008, they became a Postdoctoral Fellow at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. In 2013, they took on the role of Scientific Strategy Consultant at Ingenious Targeting Laboratory and Lead Consultant, Commercialization at Fundamentals of the Bioscience Industry Program. At the latter, they collaborated with three program colleagues to prepare a comprehensive report on the development of a technology licensing program on novel polymeric prosthetic heart valves for the treatment of valvular heart disease. Her work included research and analysis on valuation, licensing strategies, product development, market and market positioning, regulatory pathways to commercialization, and final recommendations on the technology for the Office of Technology Licensing and Industry Relations at Stony Brook University.

Jennifer Parla received their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biochemistry from Stony Brook University in 2001. Jennifer then went on to receive their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Stony Brook University in 2007. In 2013, they completed the Fundamentals of the Bioscience Industry Program at the Center for Biotechnology, Stony Brook University, receiving a Certificate of Completion.
