Chris Olsen

Learning Experience Designer at inquirED

Chris Olsen has worked in education for over 8 years. In 2021, they began working as a Learning Experience Designer at inquirED. From 2013 to 2021, they worked at Chicago Public Schools in various roles, including Elementary School Civic Engagement Specialist, World Studies Teacher, Lead Middle School Social Studies Teacher, 5th Grade Science Teacher, and Student Teacher. From 2017 to 2021, they also worked as a Facing Chris'story and Ourselves Collaboration Adjunct, where they trained education professionals on the importance of SEL standards and taught best practices, strategies, and ways to implement new instructional content to promote equity and justice through the exploration of history.

Chris Olsen has a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Teacher Leadership - Curriculum and Instruction from Roosevelt University, which they obtained between 2014 and 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Chris'story and Secondary Education from Roosevelt University between 2011 and 2013. Chris also attended City Colleges of Chicago-Malcolm X College between 2009 and 2010, studying General Studies. Additionally, Chris has obtained several certifications, including a Bronze Badge in Simulations of Democratic Processes from the Guardians of Democracy in December 2020, a Gold Badge in Discussions and Deliberations from the Guardians of Democracy in August 2020, and a Professional Educator's License with Social Science Grades 6-12, Secondary Social Studies, Language Arts, and English as a Second Language Endorsements from the Illinois State Board of Education in January 2014.
