Zigfried Hampel-Arias

Zigfried Hampel-Arias is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in science and technology, currently serving as an Embassy Science Fellow at the U.S. Department of State and as an Adjunct Faculty member at Texas A&M University. Hampel-Arias is also a Small Business Owner at RSFR LLC and a Scientist at Los Alamos National Laboratory. In addition, contributions to the Journal of Open Source Software as a Technical Reviewer focus on machine learning, statistics, and astrophysics. As a Strategic Advisor for the New Mexico Lab Embedded Entrepreneur Program and Technical Advisor for the Insight AI Program, expertise in deep learning applications and collaborative research is provided. Prior roles include Senior Data Scientist at In-Q-Tel, where impactful machine learning research supported national security efforts, and BAEF Postdoctoral Fellow at Université libre de Bruxelles, contributing to astrophysics research. Hampel-Arias holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BS in Chemical Physics from Rice University.
