Stacy Gleason

Director, Food & Nutrition Research at Insight Policy Research

Stacy Gleason has dedicated her career to evaluating and finding ways to improve the nutrition security of underserved populations and people with low incomes. As a strategic leader and director of Insight’s food and nutrition portfolio, she designs and directs mixed-method evaluations, develops resources to support program administration, facilitates advisory and stakeholder meetings, and effectively communicates results to stakeholders.

Her work focuses on federal food and nutrition assistance programs, building an evidence-based for effective approaches, supporting data-driven policy and program improvement, and lifting the voices of program implementers and recipients. Ms. Gleason has deep knowledge of the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and SNAP Nutrition Education.

Stacy directs several projects for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service, including the Improving SNAP-Ed Data project. She also directs the WIC Breastfeeding Policy Inventory II study. Stacy earned an M.P.H. with a concentration in epidemiology from the University of Washington in Seattle and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Boston College.
