Zhongyu Mou

Senior Scientist / Cheminformatician at Interline Therapeutics

Zhongyu Mou has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research and data analysis. Most recently, they have been working as a Senior Scientist / Cheminformatician at Interline Therapeutics since June 2022. Prior to that, Zhongyu held a role as a Fellow at the FDA from June 2021 to June 2022. In this position, they performed data mining of adverse events, curated chemical structures, and developed models to predict cardiac adverse effects based on clinical reports.

Before joining the FDA, Zhongyu worked as a Research Fellow at the National Library of Medicine from March 2020 to June 2021. They also served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Oak Ridge National Laboratory from March 2018 to March 2020, where they developed a machine learning protocol to determine enzyme-substrate specificity and studied organic/inorganic chemical reactions using quantum mechanics.

Furthermore, Zhongyu gained experience as a Guest Researcher at The National Institutes of Health from March 2017 to March 2018. They started their career as a Research Assistant at Georgetown University in August 2012, where they studied organic radicals and applied theoretical models to understand covalent-like bonds.

Overall, Zhongyu Mou's work experience showcases their expertise in scientific research, data analysis, and the development of predictive models in the pharmaceutical and chemical fields.

Zhongyu Mou completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry at Beijing Institute of Technology from 2008 to 2012. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computational Chemistry at Georgetown University, which was awarded to them from 2012 to 2017. In terms of additional certifications, Zhongyu Mou obtained the following: Principles of Clinical Pharmacology from The National Institutes of Health in March 2022, Big Data on AWS and Deep Learning on AWS from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in April 2021, and Introduction to Molecular Modeling in Drug Discovery: a Schrödinger Online Course from Schrödinger in April 2021.
