James Lyons

James Lyons has a diverse work experience in the finance industry. James is currently working as the Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO), starting in April 2023. Prior to this, they held the role of Director, Private Markets at IMCO from September 2020 to May 2023. Before joining IMCO, James worked as a Senior Consultant at IMCO from January 2020 to September 2020.

Earlier in their career, James was employed at CPP Investment Board as the Director of Investment Finance from 2006 to 2018. James also worked at MDS Capital as a Senior Analyst from 1999 to 2006, and at CIBC as a Financial Advisor from 1998 to 1999. So, they have a solid background in investment management and finance.

James Lyons attended the University of Toronto, where they earned a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree with a specialization in Finance, General. James also holds a certification as a Chartered Financial Analyst from the CFA Institute.
