John Whittaker

John Whittaker has extensive work experience in the field of lab automation. John began their career as a Research Assistant at The Taylor Collaboration in 2014. John then moved on to LakePharma, Inc., where they worked as an Automation Engineer from June 2014 to June 2015. In 2015, John joined Invitae as an Automation Engineer and later took on roles such as Lab Automation Team Lead and Head of Lab Automation | Research. Currently, they hold the position of Principal Engineer | Lab Automation at Invitae since June 2023.

John Whittaker earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from UC Santa Barbara in 2011. John then went on to complete a Professional Science Masters in Biotechnology from the University of San Francisco from 2013 to 2015. Additionally, they obtained several certifications including EMT from the State of Colorado Department of Health and Environment in June 2012, NR EMT-B from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians in March 2012, and BLS from the American Heart Association in February 2012.
